King's Road Church
The Kings Road Church (KRC) redevelopment aims to replace the existing structure with a state-of-the-art, contemporary civic building. The vision is to create a dynamic community hub that provides a welcoming space for fellowship, a ground-floor café, and essential community services for the town of Berkhamsted and the wider Dacorum area.
The project is designed by local award-winning firm Kirkland Fraser Moor Architects, with David Kirkland serving as the lead principal architect. They specialize in regenerative design, sustainability, and innovation.
Key Design & Community Adaptations Following extensive public consultations, the architectural plans are currently in their third iteration to better reflect residents' concerns. Originally proposed as a four-storey structure, the building's height has been significantly reduced to two storeys to respect the local conservation area and match the domestic scale of the terraced houses opposite. The redesign also includes careful daylighting studies to protect neighbouring properties' light and privacy.
Sustainability & Ecology A major focus of the redevelopment is longevity and low environmental impact. Key sustainable features include:
-
Low-Carbon Materials: The ground floor and external walls will be constructed using local waste streams of brick and stone.
-
Energy Efficiency: Discreetly positioned solar panels and carefully placed glazing to minimize heat loss and light pollution.
-
Biodiversity: The inclusion of green roofs, bat and swift roosts, and integrated planting to boost local wildlife despite the urban location.
Gosling Creative Office Refurbishment
02
Gosling Creative, an independent healthcare communications and design agency, required a complete workspace transformation for their studios located in the historic Old Batford Mill. Set against the scenic backdrop of the Batford Springs nature reserve, the goal was to totally renovate the interior to achieve a modern, sleek, and highly functional finish that reflects their intelligent and creative brand identity.
Our Role Integrate was brought on board to help deliver this ambitious office refurbishment, providing a tailored mix of procurement services to ensure high-quality materials were sourced efficiently. Furthermore, Integrate was directly appointed to execute key elements of the structural interior fit-out.
Key Works Completed:
-
Drywall Partitioning: Installation of custom drywall partitioning to intelligently divide the open mill space, creating dedicated, quiet areas for focused design work and collaborative meeting zones.
-
Suspended Ceilings: Fitting of modern suspended ceilings to conceal services, improve office acoustics, and contribute to the clean, sleek aesthetic of the newly renovated studio.
-
The Outcome The result is a beautifully revitalized, contemporary workspace that honours the charm of its mill setting while providing a state-of-the-art, inspiring environment for the Gosling Creative team.
